Historic charm in the heart of Kinsale
Dating back to 1682, our four beautifully restored cottages form part of the historic Southwell Gift Houses, established by Sir Robert Southwell, who later served as Secretary of State for Ireland and President of the Royal Society.
Originally built as almshouses to provide accommodation for those in need, the cottages later became home to widows of Protestant tradesmen. More than three centuries later, these charming buildings have been lovingly restored, preserving their historic character while offering all the comforts of modern living.
The Accommodation
Each of our four individual cottages offers comfortable and thoughtfully appointed accommodation, ideal for couples, small families or visitors wishing to explore Kinsale and the beautiful West Cork coastline. Each cottage features a separate bedroom, a private bathroom and a comfortable living area with a sofa bed, providing additional sleeping accommodation. The fully equipped kitchen includes a fridge, hob, oven, dishwasher, coffee maker, kettle and everything needed for a relaxing self-catering stay. For added convenience, each cottage also has its own washer/dryer.
Outside, guests can enjoy the beautifully maintained communal gardens, with lovely views overlooking Kinsale Harbour — a peaceful setting in which to relax and enjoy the surroundings.
